Nice little spot to grab slices and a beer. I absolutely love how fresh the toppings are
Super welcoming staff, very helpful, and even offered some great tips! Got two a-la-cart slices of cheese pizza!! NY style pizza to hit that craving!! Can't go wrong with cheese pizza! Our crusts were just a little too crunchy-likely due to being made a bit earlier, and reheated-but the sauce and cheese flavors were delicious, and absolutely still brought home a win! Advice: Try to catch it right when it gets out of the oven, if going with single slices. Great assortment of cold drinks by the glass bottle-the Root Beer was suggested by the awesome cashier, and definitely a great choice. They also had Grape Crush which I honestly don't see anywhere these days, so that's pretty awesome. Hip vibe to the space, graffiti and brick always make for a cool vibe. The place was clean, so were the bathrooms, and the staff were all pretty attentive. A warm welcome was given for our short fuzzy companion. Everything ready to go is fresh, and displayed on their rack with labels-including lots of "first world dieter" options which I'm sure are great too. (the pup happily got two small pieces of crunchy crust, which he loved and were devoured in seconds) Will be back for more toppings!! Thank you Pizzanista! It was a real slice!
This adorable all painted in black eatery is just not about great pizza. It has that as well as vegan options. But there is more. We go here now and again for lunch or takeaway. We love dinning in and they also have some cute outside dining. The prices are fair. The place is very cute with lots of wood features. We love the service. Everyone is nice and there to help you. We got some different items this time and just passed them around. The BROCCOLI RABE had a nice garlic topping with some chili. The ARUGULA salad was something you must try. We also loved the CAESAR with a house made dressing. The VEGAN MIXED GREEN was so fresh and crispy. We will be getting that again. And of course, we had to have their wonderful cheese pizza. It was all great.
It was love at first slice. A few of my colleagues were enjoying happy hour at the bar next door when the munchies hit. The bartender recommended grabbing a slice next door and the rest was history! Serving up a wide range of both slices and full pies, PIZZANISTA! DTLA needs to be your next pit-stop for a quick bite. I went with their Soppressata & Mushroom which featured some amazing cuts of slightly spicy salami. MMM-MMM-MMM! Their pizza is on the thinner side with a crispy crust that actually stays crispy. They truly have perfected the crust to sauce ratio. So yummy! I need to come back and give their famed Mac N Cheese slice a try.
4+ Nice pizza spot located in the Arts District of DTLA. I've actually been here a few times over the years, with my most recent visit being on National Pizza Day. The location is not far off the freeway so it was in easy to stop here on the way home from where I am working at the moment. Definitely a great spot if you want a quick slice or slices or if you want to order a whole pizza for takeout (or eat in with a group) I'm not sure if they claim to be NY style pizza, but it is more to that large thin slice style with a nice crunch to it. I've only ordered slices - there's a good variety available at the counter, which they throw into the oven to finish the cooking - here so not sure if it's much different ordering a whole pie. On my most recent visit, I got a soppressata and mushroom as well as a margherita slice. Flavors were really good and there was a nice crunch to each bite. Very little flop to the slices and you can pick them up to eat with one hand. The place itself doesn't feel huge. There are some booths, some small tables, and the counter where the window to the street is located. If you were to ask me about the vibe before my last visit, I would have said 'punk rock' with kind of a busy city pizza joint feel to it with the patrons, etc., but on my most recent visit, the vibes were chill and the music was old hip hop. I guess it kinda depends on who's working at the time. I found parking a few blocks away. The place is busier than I remember...it's located to a lot of studio type commercial buildings, work/live type spots, and some other restaurants.
